Grants Pass policy was established in 1933 and has been a generationally-owned family pharmacy since the early 1970s. We’re the last independent pharmacy in Grants Pass and are deeply committed to independent pharmacies in Oregon and beyond.
Grants Pass Pharmacy leads the charge with a team of pharmacists and technicians that work at the top of their license and advocate for the Grants Pass community at every level. Though we’re family-owned and maintain an old-time neighborhood feel, we employ top-of-the-line technology that enhances reporting and has helped us expand our services. Michele Belcher
Owner, Pharmacist
Michele Belcher, RPh, is the owner and lead pharmacist of Grants Pass Pharmacy, where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the business while also advocating for community pharmacy at both the state and national levels. Recently serving as president of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), she had the honor of attending several White House events during the terms of the last two presidents.
Michele’s leadership has facilitated the introduction of pharmacist-provided clinical care in Grants Pass, including services such as monoclonal antibodies, medication therapy management, immunizations, and patient assessments. She has also implemented innovative technologies like PioneerRx (a cutting-edge pharmacy management system), a mobile app and a vaccine scheduling system for enhanced patient convenience. She is deeply dedicated to her patients and local community, evident in the personalized care and attention they receive at her pharmacy.
Despite her busy travel schedule, Michele ensures seamless operations at the pharmacy through effective delegation, inspiring fellow pharmacists with her dedication, innovative spirit, and commitment to advancing the profession while continuing to serve her community.
Melinda Thorsen
Front End Manager and Buyer
After college, Melinda relocated to Portland, Oregon, securing a Waterford and Baccarat crystal consultant role at Meier & Frank. Swiftly, she transitioned to the Gift buying office as an assistant gift buyer for seasonal merchandise – orchestrating the design, procurement, and embellishment of Christmas departments across all 10 Oregon stores.
Melinda returned to Southern Oregon and joined Harry & David, assuming the assistant buyer role for their novel clothing and accessories catalog, Northwest Express. Her influence was vital in conceiving, designing, procuring, and launching this innovative catalog.
In 1996, Melinda embraced an opportunity offered by her parents. She assumed the gift buyer/merchandiser role and front-end manager at Grants Pass Pharmacy. Since then, her responsibilities have expanded – she now manages diverse tasks, from daily operations and HR to accounts receivable/payable.
Melinda derives fulfillment from customer interactions and contributing to the success of her exceptional team. She’s honored to play a role in Grants Pass Pharmacy’s legacy and promising future.
Kim Schuttpelz
Lead Pharmacist
Kim has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from Oregon State University and has worked at Grants Pass Pharmacy since 2016.
Lisa Hull
Lead Technician and Adherence Packaging Expert
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University in 1992. She is a a Certified Pharmacy Technician and has worked at Grants Pass Pharmacy since 1997.
